Lake Quinault School District is now accepting applications for the combination Custodian/Maintenance/Bus Driver. This position is a 260-day/8 hours per day position. Employee will receive all benefits and rights under the PSE Collective Bargaining Agreement. Work schedule will be determined by the employer:
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications SKILLS are required to perform multiple, non-technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating equipment used in industrial maintenance including electrical cleaning equipment, power and hand tools, etc.; adhering to safety practices and handling hazardous materials. Must become a licensed school bus driver within three months of employment.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; and understand multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: methods of industrial cleaning; preserving floors, walls, fixtures, etc., cleaning materials; methods, practices, tools and materials used in building maintenance and repair specialties; safety practices and procedures.
ABILITY is required to schedule activities; collate data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with specific, job-related data; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. In working with others, Problem solving with data requires following prescribed guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited. Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities; communicating with diverse groups; meeting deadlines and schedules; working as part of a team; working with constant interruptions.
RESPONSIBILITIES include working under direct supervision using standardized procedures; providing information and/or advising others; and operating within a defined budget. Utilization 2 of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to impact the Organization’s services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS are significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 10% sitting, 70% walking, and 20% standing. The job is performed under some hazardous conditions and in a clean atmosphere.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Arranges furnishings and equipment for the purpose of providing adequate preparations for meetings, classroom activities and special events. Attends in service training or completes on-line training (e.g. blood born pathogens, cleaning solvents, floor care, first aid, maintenance training, etc.) for the purpose of receiving information on new and/or improved procedures. Cleans assigned school facilities (e.g. classrooms, offices, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, grounds, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment. Evaluates situations (e.g. involving staff, students, parents, the public, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution. Inspects school facilities for the purpose of ensuring that the site is suitable for safe operations, maintained in an attractive and clean condition, and/or identifying and completing necessary repairs due to vandalism, equipment breakage, weather conditions, etc. as time allows. Maintains supplies and equipment (e.g. cleaning solutions, paper products, vacuum, mops, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items required to properly maintain facilities. Paints interior of classrooms, offices, restrooms, etc. for the purpose of maintaining an attractive facility. Repairs furniture and equipment as maybe required (e.g. faucets, toilets, light fixtures, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that items are available and in safe working condition. Responds to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (e.g. facility damage, injured and ill students, alarms, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action to resolve immediate safety issues and maintaining a functioning educational environment. Secures facilities and grounds for the purpose of minimizing property damage, equipment loss and potential liability to the organization.

Lake Quinault is located just off Highway 101 on the west side of the Olympic Peninsula. Drive 42 miles north of Aberdeen, or 120 miles south of Port Angeles through Forks. The Olympic National Park ocean beaches at Kalaloch are only 35 miles away. Lake Quinault is a three hour drive from Seattle, or three and a half hour drive from Portland, Oregon. The area is rich in natural history and offers an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities. Here you will find glaciercarved lakes and ancient rain forests filled with towering trees and wildlife. Camping, hiking, nature walks, boating, swimming and world renowned steelhead fishing are just some of the choices available. The Lake Quinault School District is accepting applications for the above position. Reporting directly to the Special Education Teacher, the Special Education Paraeducator is responsible for supporting and assisting students with disabilities in various school settings. The Special Education Paraeducator, consistent with the individual education plan (IEP) or individual family service plan (IFSP) assists the Special Education Teacher.
