Last Friday, March 14, 2025, the Lake Quinault Preschool students had an exciting and educational visit to the local volunteer fire department. The young students were given a special tour of the fire truck and learned firsthand about the vital role the department plays in keeping the community safe.
Firefighters welcomed the preschoolers with smiles and enthusiasm, eager to share their knowledge and experience. The children explored the fire truck, learning about its various tools and equipment, including hoses, ladders, and protective gear. They were especially thrilled to sit inside the truck and hear the sirens.
In addition to the hands-on experience, the firefighters spoke about fire safety and the importance of their work in responding to emergencies. They emphasized how firefighters help not only in fires but also in medical emergencies, rescues, and disaster situations.
The visit was a fantastic learning opportunity for the young students, who left with a greater appreciation for their local firefighters and the essential work they do. The preschool would like to extend a big thank you to the dedicated volunteers for their time and effort in making this visit a memorable experience.
Community engagement activities like this help foster a sense of safety and trust between emergency responders and the youngest members of the community. It was a day filled with fun, learning, and inspiration for the future heroes of Lake Quinault!
