Last Friday, March 28, 2025, students from Lake Quinault School’s kindergarten through second grade continued their swimming lesson trip to the YMCA in Hoquiam, WA. The young swimmers had an exciting and educational experience, learning essential water safety skills while having a fantastic time in the pool.
Under the guidance of YMCA instructors and school staff, the students practiced floating, kicking, and basic stroke techniques, helping them build confidence in the water. For many, this was their first structured swimming lesson, making the day both fun and valuable.
Laughter and splashes filled the air as students played engaging water games designed to reinforce their newfound skills. Teachers and chaperones cheered them on, ensuring a supportive and encouraging environment.
“We had such a great time watching the kids enjoy themselves and learn important swimming skills,” said one of the school staff members. “The YMCA instructors were wonderful, and the students were eager to participate and try new things.”
By the end of the session, the students left with big smiles and a sense of accomplishment. The trip not only introduced them to essential water safety but also encouraged physical activity in a fun and engaging way.
With the success of this trip, Lake Quinault School looks forward to more opportunities like this to help students gain valuable life skills while enjoying memorable experiences.
