Spring is blooming with excitement at Lake Quinault School as the horticulture class has officially launched a brand-new community garden! This hands-on project is not only teaching students valuable lessons about gardening, sustainability, and teamwork, but it’s also bringing our school and community closer together—one plant at a time.
The garden is the result of collaboration, care, and curiosity, and it’s already off to a heartwarming start. Recently, our very own Kindergarten students joined in the fun, lending their tiny helping hands to plant seeds, water sprouts, and explore the joys of working with nature. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and their smiles lit up the garden beds as they worked alongside older students and staff.
With the guidance of the horticulture class and support from teachers and volunteers, the garden is quickly becoming a shared space where students of all ages can learn and grow—both literally and figuratively. From vegetables to flowers, each plant is a symbol of teamwork and care that we hope will nourish our school and the surrounding community in the months ahead.

This project was made possible by the outdoor learning grant we received in the fall. Stay tuned for more updates as our garden grows. We’re so proud of all the students and staff involved—and we can’t wait to see what blossoms next!
