Exploring a Balanced Calendar The Lake Quinault School District is exploring a balanced calendar. Like traditional calendar, a balanced calendar has the same number of school days (180). The difference is how the breaks are spread out. Instead of a calendar dominated by a very long summer break, students would have more periodic, breaks throughout the school year and a shorter summer break. There are potential benefits and challenges associated with a balanced calendar. We will be having an informational meeting  on February 5th in the cafeteria starting at 6:00 p.m. Dr. David Hornak is a nationally recognized expert in the area of balanced calendars. He will be able to answer questions you have that night. Your input will help guide the school board. The feedback received at this meeting will be critical in deciding the 2024-2025 school calendar.
